Promotion Giveaway for KBR Summer School: Three Self-Guided Classes

This summer, we are offering our online "KBR Summer School: Three Self-Guided Classes" starting June 21. To get the word out about the summer school, we are using our newsletter, Facebook and Twitter posts, and even Facebook advertising. We want to make sure we let as many people as possible know about the class, and so we are also offering this promotion giveaway as a thank you for those who help us spread the news.

How It Works

The basic idea is simple: You make a public post about the course on social media, with a link to the information and sign-up page, and you get an entry in the giveaway drawing. We don't want to miss your post, so you also need to make sure that we see it. On Facebook, just tag one of us in your post. On Twitter, use the hashtag #KBRSummer as part of your post. If you post elsewhere, such as on Instagram or Tumblr, please find some other way to let us know. Posts from now through June 24 qualify.

One post equals one entry. If you want to post once a day, or a similar more sedate schedule, we're fine with that. We will use our discretion in awarding extra entries for creativity or for posts that go viral or that attract discussion. We will also use our discretion in deciding what doesn't qualify as an entry--if you auto-post on Twitter every hour for a day, for example, we won't give you 24 entries for your efforts. That's overkill, and might annoy people. Posts on social media accounts with few followers or that seem to exist only for contest entries will also be excluded. Those two examples aren't the only possible problems, just examples, but rest assured that we want to reward people making a genuine effort to spread the word about the course.

The Prizes

We will select winners at random for four prizes from all of the entries. The first winner gets their choice of a seat in the Summer School/a future online KBR class or a certificate for an "unworkshop" day at the Highlights Foundation. The second winner gets the prize not chosen by the first winner. The third winner receives Daemon Voices: On Stories and Storytelling by Philip Pullman. The fourth winner receives Writing Picture Books (revised edition) by Ann Whitford Paul. If you win and don't want to use the prize yourself, you can transfer it to someone else.

That's it! Simple. Thank you for taking part.
